(1856-1922) Уотсон, Томас ЭдвардПолитический деятель, юрист. В 1891-93 член Палаты представителей [ House of Representatives] от штата Джорджия, куда был выдвинут Фермерским союзом [ Farmers' Alliances]. Один из лидеров Популистской партии [ Populist Party], в 1896 был выдвинут ее кандидатом на пост вице-президента, а в 1904 - кандидатом на пост президента, но не получил на выборах необходимого числа голосов. С 1908 активно поддерживал Ку-клукс-клан [ Ku Klux Klan], выступая против католиков, евреев, негров и социалистов.
